Firsthand Job? Newspaper Prints Unintentionally Dirty Headline

On Twitter Sunday, a user posted a screenshot of a headline from Kansas’ Pratt Tribune which was supposed to read, “Students get firsthand job experience.” Only, in reality, “first” and “hand” were inexplicably separated into two words, causing the headline to take on an unintentionally crass meaning. The journalistic gaffe led users to share other accidentally hilarious headlines of yore, such as (NSFW double entendre alert!), “Widow, 81, Beats Off Teen Burglar,” and, “6,000 RIM jobs on the line.”Newspaper’s terrible NSFW headline is a prime example of why you should always proofread:

Randy Rogers Calls Newborn Daughter’s Death “Heart-Wrenching”

randyIn his first interview since the death of his week-old daughter earlier this month, country singer Randy Rogers tells People that baby Rumer Rain was born with a rare genetic disorder that leads to breathing and feeding difficulties. “She wouldn’t eat and she wouldn’t wake up…It was heart-wrenching and grueling not knowing what was wrong,“ says Rogers. Ultimately, the diagnosis came back as nonketotic hyperglycinemia, which affects about 1 in 66,000 newborns in the U.S. “[My wife] Chelsea and I always thought that we were two peas in a pod. Turns out literally we are, genetically,“ Rogers says. “We have the exact same recessed gene. The odds are astronomical.“ Rogers added that they do want to have more kids, but will have to use IVF because of the recessed gene.

Kristen Bell Plays Underpaid Mary Poppins in Funny or Die Parody

mary pIn a new Funny or Die sketch, Kristen Bell plays a fed-up version of Mary Poppins who is quitting her job with the Banks family because it doesn’t provide her with enough money to live on. The Frozen star charmingly sings about why the government should raise the federal minimum wage to the tune of the Disney classic tune “A Spoonful of Sugar.“ Best of all, when the underpaid Poppins opens up her famous umbrella, she finds that it’s broken and declares it “supercalifragilisticexpialibulls**t.“Kristen Bell plays an underpaid Mary Poppins in Funny or Die parody – CBS News:
